How much food to give to the dog
All the nutrients in natural dog food
As we have said, the choice of kibble depends on the age, size and physical activity of the dog, but also on any food intolerances or allergies.
However, there are some components that unite the natural dog food, and these are proteins, carbohydrates, fats, mineral salts and vitamins.
Proteins
Derived mainly from meat and its derivatives, proteins provide the dog with the correct amount of essential amino acids and help maintain good muscle tone. The main food source is meat and its derivatives.
Carbohydrates
Fruits, legumes, potatoes and other plant-based ingredients are the primary source of carbohydrates, which are essential because they provide the dog with the energy it needs.
Fats
Whether of animal or vegetable origin, they are important for providing essential fatty acids, and are also a long-term source of energy.
Minerals and vitamins
They are essential for correct physiological functioning and for maintaining a state of good health.
Highly digestible dog food
Aldog® natural dog products fully respect the well-being and health of your four-legged friend, helping him to quickly digest his meals. In fact, we produce highly digestible dog biscuits, which include:
- Foods rich in digestive ingredients(such as tapioca and FOS, specific prebiotics useful for defending the intestinal flora), which you can find in several of our products, such as Aldog® Alps And Aldog® Nordic Sea;
- Digestible kibble for dogs with allergies or intolerances single-protein based, such as Aldog® Lamb And Aldog® Pork with Whole Peas;

An extra precaution for your dog's health
If you want to ensure your four-legged friend has a proper diet, there are some elements, in addition to the ingredients, that you should pay attention to:
- additives: these are all those elements added to dog food for nutritional or conservation purposes (for example, vitamins, antioxidants, preservatives, colorants). EU regulations require that only substances that are safe for animal health be used as additives. Additives maintain the organoleptic characteristics of the food unaltered and make it nutritionally complete
- components analytics: is the wording that reports the nutritional properties of dog food (for example the percentages of proteins, fats, fibres, ashes, minerals). The determination of the analytical components is carried out with standardised methods and protocols so that the interpretation is unequivocal
- nutritional information: they are used to administer the right amount of food, so that the dog receives the right amount of kibble without becoming overweight. Generally, it is good to divide the daily amount into two meals: the dose varies, obviously, based on the weight and age of the dog.
Why choose Italian natural dog food?
There are several reasons why we recommend you opt for Italian natural dog food, and these range from more purely economic reasons to those that refer to greater attention to the diet of our friends.
Here are the main ones.
Choosing Italian Croquettes:
- the resources of the territory are favored, because work is given to the country's production chain - raw materials, transformation, logistics and sales
- the production chain is shortened – which is excellent from an ecological point of view
- you have the guarantee that the raw materials and their processing methods meet the quality standards required by Italian regulations - the controls, in fact, are strict and accurate during all phases of the production chain (for example, the current legislation on labelling promotes transparency in communication on the packaging so that we know what we are actually feeding our dog).
